Food that contains wine........need help here!
Salam
I bought some mud cake that contain a very very little amount of marsala wine what I didn't know when buying. After eating some of them I noticed that they contain wine in it. Again tonight I eat some of them out hunger :(
are these kind food haram to eat which contains very little amount of wine? they don't make us out of mind or making us addicted
If the food I eat is haram, are my prayers going to be accepted??? or has it made me impure for 40 days??? :(
Brother Rumi, one hadith i remember is Prophet [SAW] saying prayers [Supplications] are not accepted by the person who consumes haram, this could be having Riba, and other types of Haram.
Since you had it first without knowing, then you didn't know, and Allah overlooks those mistakes made out of ignorance [as related in a hadith].
And regarding your 2nd consumption you knew you were consuming haram, for that there is sin because you knew, my advice is repent and make istighfar.
Allah says:
"Say, 'O My slaves who have transgressed against themselves! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (39:53)"
Salam Brother Rumi....I attended an islamic lecture a few weeks ago....someone asked a similar questions....in regards to foods that contain minute amounts of alcohol...the Sheiks answer was that firstly Islam is a Macroscopic NOT a microscopic religion. This means that we look at the bigger picture and shouldn't needlessly worry about things that wont affect us. What he said was that if the amount of alcohol is so small that you cannot taste it, cannot smell it and it doesnt change the look of your food or drink then it is not haram. Would you have known that there was alcohol in this had you not read the packet? See? MICROSCOPIC. Also, you could eat a tonne of this cake and it wouldn't affect you (make you drunj). If this is causing you concern I would definately advise you to ask a knowledgeable person who wont just be copying and pasting nor quoting hadith out of context with this exact situation. Wasalam
