I think is Yamaha, by matter of value.. I have a Yamaha BB series and a Fender P-bass, and the sound of the BB is too much better, and the difference of price is nearly the half...

It depends on what sound you want. For a p-bass or jazz bass sound, but at a better than Fender quality, at resonable prices I'd go for a G&L. Yamaha generally are quite good, their sound can be great, and are quite versatile. If you can afford really expensive basses, Sadowsky is the way to go. SX basses are quite famous for being cheap and of great quality. For a best of both worlds (between P-bass and Jazz bass sound) I'd go for a Deluxe Active P-bass or a G&L SB2 (would prefer the latter).
